Games No Longer Work Since Updating to EOS

Hi, I have a DS One card and a SanDisk 8GB (Class 2) microSDHC card. Since updating the DS1's OS to the new EOS I am not able to play any games at all. I just get two blank, white screens. On the previous OS/firmware I was able to play most games fine (apart from a few new games and the occasional mid-game crash) but now I can't play anything.

This surely can't be because I have a slow card can it? I don't understand how it was working fine one minute and it doesn't work at all. I have just ordered myself a new Kingston 8GB (Class 4) microSD card (as that was the make recommended on the new Ultimate SC FAQ) just in case but I wan't to make sure that the card is working fine.

Please can anyone help me?

EDIT: I've since found out that if I reduce the SD card speed right down to about 2 I can get the games working again. I've also downloaded the latest ndsinfo.dat file from the forum. On some games though they wouldn't work properly for some reason and so I had to delete the old save game data (that was previously created on the old OS) and start afresh with this new EOS file. So that is a little annoying as I've pretty much lost any progress I had made and have to start from scratch.

I'm still encountering a problem where certain games crash mid-playing them. For example, when I play Korg DS-10 (music creation game), I'll be halfway making music when the game will crash and freeze completely, resulting in me having to turn off the DS and start from scratch. I don't know if this is something wrong with the software, or as I suspect, my rubbish microSD card being far too slow. I'm hoping the new one I've ordered (as mentioned above) will completely eradicate this problem.

Sorry if this post has now become redundant but some people may not know about the incompatability of old saved game files from a previous OS with the new one.

i was under the impression the new EOS was better with slower cards like the SanDisk

I have just ordered myself a new Kingston 8GB (Class 4) microSD

the kingston will run fine with the dsone/i i used one & it worked great as long as its the Japan model & not the Korean model as they run to slow

I've pretty much lost any progress I had made and have to start from scratch.

you really should back up your data before you do anything with your cart

the only thing i can suggest is back up everything , format then put everything back on (using a fresh copy of EOS, ndsinfo.dat & ds1patch)

Thanks for the reply Jmr. I can get games to run now but do experience crashes quite a lot. For example, last night I was playing the Sonic Classic Collection and halfway through the Marble Zone the game crashed and I had to reboot my DS. With regard to the Kingston card, I'm not sure if it's the Japanese or Korean model: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002DPNUK2/ref=oss_product but this is the one I've ordered.

I always do backup my card's data by copying it to my computer's HDD and then back to my microSD once I've formatted/updated the EOS. I think the crashes are caused mainly by my slow card but I'm not 100% on that.

Some of the newer games like Warioware DIY don't work at all and I'm just faced with two black screens. I don't know if that is an SD card issue or something else.

Just a little update to this if anyone's interested or having the same problem. I am now using a new Kingston 8gb microSD card and it is the Taiwan model. It seems to be working fine and I have selected the fastest speed in EOS as I wasn't sure what the best speed was to select and don't know how to get it to auto-select a speed (this doesn't seem to be available in the new EOS like it was in the old OS).

I've also updated the EOS with a new patch that is available on the Supercard's forum and this has now fixed quite a few games and got them working fine.
